Style Guidelines For Wearing Oversized Clothing

Posted on July 26, 2015 at 12:38 pm

Walk to your local shopping centre and you’ll see the various different styles worn nowadays. From tight-fitted clothing, to loose, oversized clothing, there really is no actual norm anymore.

Today we’ll be discussing oversized clothing and our guidelines when considering this style.

  • Always remember that oversized clothing is a CASUAL look. Do not try to wear longline t-shirts with a blazer for example. Leave the classic styles alone!
  • Do not oversize everything in your outfit. Oversized looked best when paired with slim legwear. Avoid oversized tops with oversized jeans. This isn’t 1995!
  • Be confident in what you wear. Confidence adds a good 30% in how good one looks in our opinion!

Christening Accessories for Your Baby and You

Posted on June 24, 2015 at 8:41 am

The christening of your child is one of the first pivotal events that your child will have. Plenty of pictures will be taken and a couple of tears might be shed as well. Most christenings were originally performed with the candidates naked; this practice died out in the Middle Ages. Christening is rife with symbolism. It is considered a form of rebirth, and the original nakedness was a reference to the nakedness in one’s entrance into the world through birth. The removal of clothing is representative of taking off the trappings of the sins of the self, so that Jesus can put on the “new man” or “new woman” for the candidate.

No fashion: Sometimes it’s the best way

Posted on June 17, 2015 at 7:28 pm

Now what do I mean by “no fashion”? Is there such a thing? I mean even someone wearing a sack might call that a fashion statement; but let’s not split hairs here. We all know that when we look at someone poorly dressed we think “that person has no fashion sense.” Sometimes, though, is that the best way to be? We can’t all look like James Dean first thing in the morning after throwing on a t shirt and jeans, with perfect bed hair and 5 o’clock shadow. Looking good takes a lot of work, money and time and, frankly, sometimes we do not have that kind of time to spare.
So yeah, sometimes we wake up, our hair looks like crap and we can’t be bothered to shower. After all; we are only going to the corner shop so why do we need some Armani jeans? Why do we need to look amazing for something simple like that?

3 Ways To Cuff Your Jeans

Posted on May 28, 2015 at 11:00 am

Are your fitted jeans looking loose at the bottom of the leg? Maybe you need to start cuffing your jeans. Below are four different techniques, all which give a different look.

Single roll – The easiest way to cuff your jeans, all you have to do is fold up once and then tuck in the hem behind the folded section.

Long roll – Similar to the single roll, but you add another inch to the roll and then tuck in the hem behind the folded section.

Skinny roll – You have to fold up three times, but really thinly. This style is perfect to go for when wearing converses and driving shoes.

Pinroll – Before you fold, pinch an inch of the side of your jeans, fold in and then roll up twice. This is perfect for tapering wider cut jeans.

The Onesie

Posted on May 27, 2015 at 10:00 am

Well, well, well. Who would have thought it would come to this. The onesie. The one item that I never thought I would write about, let alone wear, has finally invaded my life. I am sat in Dundee, watching Community and chatting to a friend of mine and his girlfriend while they play some free to play game on their iPad. His girlfriend is sat shouting loudly as she loses badly on the game. She is, though, wearing a dinosaur onesie.
It’s green, with a tail and spines and looks absolutely ridiculous. I think it is comfortable though? I’ll ask her now; she says it is. It looks stupid though, but the promise of comfort and warmth, coupled with the sheer rage it seems to bring out in her is something that needs to be seen to be believed. I don’t know if that’s all because of the onesie, but I think it probably is.
