Rihanna appears on the cover of the latest Rolling Stone magazine looking as polished and beautiful as ever. And in the accompanying interview the Diamonds singer openly admits that she is back with her controversial boyfriend Chris Brown, who is still on probation from being found guilty of assaulting her back in 2009, confirming what everybody – not least her Twitter and Instagram followers – already knew.

RiRi is well aware that her choice won’t be a popular one with her fans and the press, but says that her own happiness is more important to her than her public image. ‘When you add up the pieces from the outside, it’s not the cutest puzzle in the world,” Rihanna admitted. ‘[But] I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that.’ The star, whose hotly anticipated fashion collection for River Island will show at London Fashion Week next month, now sparks speculation as to whether Chris Brown, who spent New Year with her and joined her on her 777 tour  – will be front row for her catwalk spectacular.

‘I decided it was more important for me to be happy,’ she told the magazine. ‘After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash … Sometimes people need support and encouragement, instead of ridicule and criticism and bashing.’

Rihanna assures the interviewer that in any case, Chris Brown is a reformed character; ‘he doesn’t have the luxury of fucking up again. That’s just not an option,’ she said. ‘I wouldn’t have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility … You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it’s different now. We don’t have those types of arguments any more.’

There’s a brilliant blast from the past in this today’s Instagram pics. Alexa Chung has posted a snap of herself from her teen years, and while it’s clear the Brit style icon has always been a beauty she wasn’t without an awkward stage. The presenter explained, “Me aged 14. Eyebrow and attitude problem. Double whammy.” Looks like the young Chung could have done with a lesson in eyebrow upkeep from fellow onesie fan Cara Delevingne.

While Alexa may no longer be the face of Superga, her mate Henry Holland gave us an exciting glimpse at his new collection for the trainer brand. We can only make out the back of the soles of the shoes which feature the designer’s logo, but look forward to seeing more – and perhaps new Superga girl-in-waiting Rita Ora wearing them on stage!

Another star who knows a thing or two about building anticipation is Beyoncé. The singer has been posting daily updates of her Super Bowl rehersal progress on her website which have left us brimming with questions about her big performance. Will Kelly and Michelle be at her side on stage Could hubby Jay-Z join her for a duet Let’s hope Bey doesn’t remain as tight lipped on the night.

And finally, the weirdest celebrity trio of the day award goes to Harry Styles, Jemima Khan and philosopher Alain de Botton who posted a snap with the 1D star on Twitter with “We talk Plato, Aristotle, love and beauty”. Oh to be a fly on the wall!

Kate Middleton showed us all the wonderful way of the ruch every time she stepped out in her various colours of her favourite Issa jersey dress – not least on the day she announced her betrothal to her handsome prince.

Victoria Beckham is doing a stand up job of making us super duper excited for her e-commerce site which launches next month. For her new line VB has delved into the archives and relaunched several iconic dresses from her previous collections, worn on everyone from K Stew to J Lo. The first collection will be a tightly edited selection of pieces from spring/summer 2009 season onwards, launching with just seven dresses.

So which designs do you think will make the cut So far we know the collection will include the striped navy and mint dress from Spring 2012, but extra pieces will be added throughout the year. We’d personally like to see the grey strapless VB dress she wore to last year’s Vanity Fair Oscars party or the striped Autumn Winter 2012 collection worn by Jennifer Lawrence.
