Oscars 2013: The Best Red Carpet Moments You Didn’t See
Posted on May 15, 2013 at 12:33 pm
Now we obviously love a posey posey papped red carpet picture, which lets you examine the Oscar Awards couture from every angle. But you can’t beat a red carpet candid shot, right
Jennifer Aniston was on the red carpet arm in arm with hubby to be Justin and she played the dutiful fiancée, adjusting his bow tie. How adorable! Jen An might have been glued to Justin, but she also squeezed in some time to speak to Adele on the red carpet.
Bradley Cooper gave Jennifer Lawrence a spin around on the red carpet, whipping out some of those Oscar winning Silver Linings dance moves. Oh how we wish they were together in real life. Speaking of Bradz, he walked down the red carpet with his mum Gloria and he seemed rather impressed with her red carpet etiquette as he commented: ‘You’re really holding it together! She’s doing well. She’s a pro.’ N’awww.
The red carpet was awash with A List BFFs as Amanda Seyfried chatted with Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence and Jennifer Garner had a red carpet giggle and Sandra Bullock had a quick catch up with Ben Affleck. Little Quvenzhane Wallis was getting the attention of all the A Listers, including Jessica Chastain and Halle Berry.

H&M have been fashioning cool but conscious collections for some time now but today marks a real milestone in the Swedish high street chain’s attempt to go green: an appearance on the Oscars red carpet.

Best Dressed Men At The Oscars 2013: Channing Tatum, Bradley Cooper & More
Posted on May 11, 2013 at 2:32 pm
There was a clear formula for the guys this year at the Oscars, as they were all (except for baby faced Eddie Redmayne and Channing Tatum) sporting some impressive facial fuzz. It’s official… the beard is back.
Ben Affleck has been rocking a beard all Awards Season and it’s got so big it even has it’s very own Twitter account (tweeting from the Oscars of course). Affleck’s A List friends George Clooney, Justin Theroux, Hugh Jackman and Bradley Cooper all had some facial fuzz on the red carpet.
Eddie Redmayne may have a thing for Burberry velvet tuxes, but he stayed nice and traditional for the Oscars in an Alexander McQueen black tuxedo. Swoon. The young Brit hit the red carpet with his girlfriend Hannah Bagshawe by his side.
Bradley Cooper’s date for the red carpet was his… mum Gloria. Mummy Cooper said to Mr Ryan Seacrest: ‘It’s very exciting to be here, this is my first time at the Oscars!’ To which Bradz replied ‘she’s a pro.’ Could we love him any more Bringing your mum as a date is almost as fashionable as having a beard, as the man in the double breasted suit, Chris Pine also brought his mum as a date.
Mr Justin Theroux ditched his usual leather biker gear for a classic tuxedo to walk the red carpet with Jennifer Aniston. One of our favourite candid moments had to be when Jen straightened his bow-tie in between posing for photos. Adorbs! We can’t exactly talk about cute couples without mentioning Channing Tatum and his pregnant wife Jenna Dewan, who win the award for the most PDAs on the red carpet.
So who is your red carpet crush Team Eddie or Team Bradley See all the best dressed men at the Oscars 2013 in the gallery above…

Oscars 2013: All The Best Dresses From The Academy Awards After Parties
Posted on May 9, 2013 at 7:58 pm
It’s notoriously tricky to bag a ticket to the Oscars ceremony, so many A Listers watch it just like us on the TV. But they don’t just sit at home in their PJs – they put on sparkly couture and go to one (or two) of the many star studded bashes in Hollywood. Some now even see the Vanity Fair party as a bigger deal than the actual Oscars.
Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom, Grazia’s new girl crush Allison Williams, Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied and Diane Kruger are just a few of the starlets partying away as we type at the Vanity Fair party. Oscar attendees traditionally also stop by the Vanity Fair party after the ceremony and of course an outfit change is usually in order. Amanda Seyfried slipped into a red gown, Anne Hathaway into blue and Jennifer Lawrence into silver.

Meanwhile Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus and Kelly Osbourne all attended Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards screening in identikit white floor sweepers. But these girls don’t mind being dressed in similar party frocks as it’s the perfect all white photo op (and we all know Kim K loves some good ol’ colour co-ordination). Kourtney Kardashian tried out a new edgier red carpet style in a red floral structured gown. Speaking of Elton’s party, Heidi Klum wore one of the most risque dresses we’ve seen for quite some time, showing off lotsa cleavage in a gold sequin Julien Macdonald gown.

Oscars 2013: Our Verdict On The Best And Worst Of The Ballgowns!
Posted on May 7, 2013 at 5:53 pm
In Hollywoodland, the red carpet to end all red carpets is that of the Oscars. There’s no other moment quite like it in the movie calendar, and the pressure to really bust out the big guns in terms of fashion is almost as great as piling on a gushing acceptance speech. A-list ladies prep and preen for this momentous evening for days, weeks… even months if they are in constant fittings with the chosen designer of their truly special, custom-made ballgown.
The Golden Globes and BAFTAs are but a mere warm up, a stretching of some moda muscle, so getting this outfit op right, or wrong – on such a globally pored-over high profile occasion – is potentially career-making, or career-denting. After all, there are only so many contenders for whom scooping up a golden statuette is possible, many more can make an impression on the fashion pack. It’s such an incredibly important night for the fash industry that some labels even refuse to showcase their red carpet wares at any of the earlier awards ceremonies for a shot at this exclusive brand enhancing chance. So who killed it on the carpet And who should have a stern word their stylist We’ve selected the best of the best and a few fashion mishaps, too…
Nude model army: Oscar winners Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway and actress Jessica Chastain
PALE AND INTERESTING WINS OUT:
The evening’s leading ladies, Oscar winners Jennifer Lawrence (Dior Couture) and Anne Hathaway (bespoke Prada), were the pied pipers of the pastels pack. Soft pinky tones, ultra-minimal jewellery and crazily pretty au-natural makeup. Kristen Stewart in Reem Acra and Jessica Chastain in Giorgio, Renee Zellweger in Carolina Herrera, Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta and Amanda Seyfried in Alexander McQueen all took the same tack, but it was J-Law and Hathaway who hit the highest fashion notes.
Scarlet ladies; Jennifer Aniston, Kerry Washington and Sally Field
LADIES IN RED – RIGHT AND WRONG:
It’s become a classic combination – clashing your red dress against the red carpet. Maybe there’s some secret slimming jiggery pokery that happens, but either way, Jennifer Aniston in Valentino, Sally Fields and Kerry Washington in Miu Miu. Olivia Munn failed to impress with her red satin strapless gown, it was so low-cut that it looked dangerously on the edge of Grammys dress code. If only the fit had been a teeny bit better.
Halle Berry and Jane Fonda rock Atelier Versace
PHWOAR-OMETER:
You can always trust Halle Berry to bring some sex appeal to the world’s favourite red carpet. She dazzled in Versace, as did the sassiest septegenarian on the planet, the one, the only, Jane Fonda in canary yellow from the Italian fashion house.
Back in black: Sandra Bullock, Zoe Saldana and Helena Bonham Carter
LBDs – BORING VS. BRILLIANT
Naughty naughty Sandra Bullock and Samantha Barks, these black dresses are nice, but oh-so-dull. At least Helena Bonham Carter brought a wave of chaos with her dishevelled monochrome look, and Zoe Saldana’s Alexis Mabille Couture has some eye-catching detailing. Adele, as one could’ve predicted, also wore a black gown: hers was a super-sparkler from Jenny Packham.
Pretty in pink; Fan Bingbing and Jennifer Garner
JEWEL BRIGHTS – SEEN IT BEFORE
None of the jewel-coloured brights felt as modern as the nudes from our winning ladies above, but nonetheless, Fan Bing Bing looked pretty-as in her shocking pink – and rather OTT – dress from Marchesa. Jennifer Garner and Reese Witherspoon also opted for vibrant colours – deep purple and sapphire blue. Both nice, but not memorable.
