WATCH Edie Campbell Play Dress Up For Lanvin’s Autumn Winter 2013 Campaign

Lanvin Autumn Winter 2013 campaign video
When Mr Alber Elbaz wanted to create a campaign which showed the diversity of the Lanvin Autumn Winter collection, he could have snapped up an impressive roster of top models. The last time he wanted to show diversity, with his last Autumn campaign he picked a smorgasbord of ladies-not models, including a waiter, a milliner and a recent U.S. immigrant.
But this time he decided to put it all on one lady – casting Edie Campbell to play six different characters. Translation: she wears five different wigs. Oh and a turban. She’s rather good at dressing up is our Edie. We had to double take a few times to check each character was actually her.
Creative Direction: House and Holme, Ronnie Newhouse and Stephen Wolstenholme
Edie plays femme fatale heroines, leaping from a film noir siren to a curly haired, fur wearing rule breaker. Now what is a retro campaign without an Alfred Hitchcock-esque leading lady So you’ll be glad to hear that for the Steven Meisel campaign Edie does her very best Tippi Hedren.
As for the clothes there is fur slung over prints and swinging cocktail dresses worn with flat brogues. We’d like to get our paws on one of the mood necklaces which spell out ‘Happy’ and ‘Cool.’ At the show Alber said of his necklaces: ‘Because we’re always seeking something and I hate the word ‘cool’. I’m allergic to the word ‘cool.’ Well we’re definitely not allergic to his motto necklaces.
Creative Direction: House and Holme, Ronnie Newhouse and Stephen Wolstenholme
Of course this isn’t the first time Edie has bagged a huge campaign, as she has starred in a Mario Testino Burberry campaign with Kate Moss and a Burbs campaign with the adorable Romeo Beckham. We’re expecting very big things from Ms Campbell.

Top 7 Kanye-isms: As His A.P.C Collaboration Sells Out, We Explore The Fashion World According to Mr West
Posted on February 11, 2014 at 9:41 am
Kanye Working His Look
Teaming up with cult designer Jean Touitou, the Creative Director of French brand A.P.C, Kanye West has made yet another foray into the world of fashion design. While his eponymous collections may have been panned when they were presented at Paris fashion week, his more recent efforts have been much more successful with his capsule lining selling out instantly.
And while we are interested in the quiet street classic mini line for A.P.C, we are more intrigued about Touitou’s account of working with the rap superstar on the collaboration, two years in the making. For starters Touitou told Style.com that West was pretty damn particular about what he wanted. “He could want a piece to be baggy and skinny at the same time,” Touitou describes, “When you deal with a guy who wants to redesign just about anything so it could fit [into the] kingdom of dopeness, it takes some time to just sit and say, “Okay, agreed.” Sounds tricky!
The Sell-Out Kanye West for A.P.C collection
Touitou described his first ever meeting with West to Grazia earlier this year: “The first time I had a talk with Kanye West – he wanted some information about fashion – we spoke to each other for 2 hours,” said Touitou, “Now this gives you an idea of my awareness of celebrities, but some time into the conversation I had to say ‘Sir what is you trade, what do you do in life’ I didn’t know who the guy was… We actually got to know each other more and I found his music interesting in the end.”
While Touitou might have been out of the loop, the rest of the world is well aware of Mr West’s impact on the world – from GoldDigger to being Kim K’s baby daddy. Read on below to see out favourite KW quotes on what fashion means to him….
1. His Impact On The Fashion World and Beyond
“I think what Kanye West is going to mean is something similar to what Steve Jobs means. I am undoubtedly, you know, Steve of internet, downtown, fashion, culture. Period. By a long jump.”
2. The Contents of His Fashion Brain
“Visiting my mind is like visiting the Hermes factory. Shit is real. You’re not going to find a chink. It’s 100,000 percent Jimi Hendrix.”
3. The Pains of Working in Fashion
“I thank Marc Jacobs so much for giving me the opportunity to design a shoe for Louis Vuitton, but the thing that broke my heart most was when they said, “You’re finished. The shoe’s finished.”

4. On Minimalism
“I’m just trying to cut away all the — you know, it’s even like what we talk about with clothing and fashion, that sometimes all that gets in the way. You even see the way I dress now is so super straight.”
5. His Fashion Connections
“I’ve been connected to the most culturally important albums of the past four years, the most influential artists of the past ten years. You have like, Steve Jobs, Walt Disney, Henry Ford, Howard Hughes, Nicolas Ghesquière, Anna Wintour, David Stern.”
6. The Pain of Fashion (again)
“Fashion breaks my heart”
7. His Festive Fashion Ambitions
“I sat down with a clothing guy that I won’t mention, but hopefully if he reads this article, he knows it’s him and knows that out of respect, I didn’t mention his name: this guy, he questioned me before I left his office:, “If you’ve done this, this, and this, why haven’t you gone further in fashion” And I say, “I’m learning.” But ultimately, this guy that was talking to me doesn’t make Christmas presents,” meaning that nobody was asking for his [stuff] as a Christmas present. If you don’t make Christmas presents, meaning making something that’s so emotionally connected to people, don’t talk to me.”

Fashion Blogger Of The Week: Claire From The Jazzpad On Flying The Northern Flag
Posted on February 9, 2014 at 7:26 am
This week’s Fashion Blogger of the Week is Grazia Local Sheffield ambassador Claire from The Jazzpad. Last summer Claire, a graduate and Junior Account Exec, shared her love of the Steel City with Grazia readers and now she’s back to offer a few pearls of wisdom about breaking into blogging. Originally started as a university hobby, Claire has since developed The Jazzpad into a lifestyle and fashion blog with outfit posts, reviews wish lists and more.
Find out more in our Q&A…
Grazia Daily: How long have you been blogging
Claire from Jazzpad: I’ve been blogging in some form or other for nearly four years now (yikes!) but probably over the last year or so I’ve really made it my own. It’s even helped me get a job and I now tutor businesses on how to write, plan and manage their own professional blogs.
Grazia Daily: What made you decide to start your blog
Claire from Jazzpad: It was definitely a hobby at first – it started as an outlet for documenting my move to university. I wanted to remember everything that I did, so initially it was heavily photography-oriented. I started posting some wishlists and before I knew it I was attempting outfit posts when I spent all of my student loan too quickly on Sheffield’s best vintage. The rest, as they say, is history!
Grazia Daily: What’s been your highlight so far
Claire from Jazzpad: Working on a special edition of Grazia last year was a dream. I sing the praises of Sheffield on my own blog so it was great to be able to spread the Northern love to a national audience! I’ve also worked with some fantastic UK brands and have met some truly inspiring businessmen and women setting up their own independent boutiques.
Grazia Daily: Are there any particular perks of blogging
Claire from Jazzpad: Getting the odd freebie isn’t to be sniffed at, but I’m a social butterfly so the events and press days are certainly a favourite aspect of mine. Some of my best friends are now those I have met through blogging, so I have a lot to be grateful for.
Grazia Daily: Have you been to London Fashion Week
Claire from Jazzpad: That’s my next goal this September! Every year something has got in the way – last February it was me and my boyfriend’s anniversary so we were in Paris. Not that I’m complaining!
Grazia Daily: Blog brag time: why should people read your blog
Claire from Jazzpad: Variety is the spice of life so my blog is a mish mash of all things style related. From monochrome outfit posts to top products to use on ombre dip dye hair, I experiment with my style and try and push my own sartorial boundaries. If that doesn’t sway you, I’m one of the few flying the Northern flag, and I still post the odd photo diary up of my travels. You never really know what you’re going to get.
Grazia Daily: What advice do you have for anyone starting a blog
Claire from Jazzpad: I guess the obvious thing is not to be put off if you don’t have anyone reading it for a while. It’s definitely more important to retain that love of blogging, than being desperate for comments and followers. Write about what you love, and be proud of what you create.
Grazia Daily: Which other fashion blogs do you love
Claire from Jazzpad: I love the arty blogs such as Style Marmalade, Buckets & Spades and Is mental, but I also have a lot of love for the bloggers I am proud to call my mates, like Fat Frocks, Being Little and It’s Cohen. There are so many though!

Posted on February 7, 2014 at 4:41 pm
This week in the world of fashion, we’ve been non-stop drooling over the snaps that popped up on Instagram of Caroline Sieber’s dreamy wedding – hello Chanel wedding dress, traditional Austrian costumes and, err, Pippa Middleton. We’ve also got rather excited at the prospect of a new Burberry couple and hooted at the thought of Kate Moss’ daughter channelling Meryl Streep. But just because we don’t want you to miss one morsel of fashion news, here’s our roundup of the other style snippets hitting our radar…
1. What If Disney Princesses Were Superheroes
Being big kids at heart, we seriously love this. Aegistkitty, an Tumblr artist, has treated us to a ‘Super Disney’ collection of our favourite princesses transformed into superheroes, including Jasmine as Wonder Girl and Ariel as Mera. Result. Which one will you be this Halloween
2. Mulberry Launch New Primrose Collection
Heads up, bag lovers. Mulberry’s new Primrose Collection is launching in stores and online this week and we recommend you get them before you go. Inspired by a vintage bag shape, the softly-rounded satchel is loaded with Mulberry DNA from a structured top handle to a postman’s lock closure. Make your choice between elegant Taupe Classic Calf Leather, Deer Brown or Aubergine Grainy Calf Leather, Black or Bright Red Polished Calf Leather and the sumptuous Bright Red Haircalf. We swoon.
3. Strut Your Stuff On Regent Street’s Open-Air Catwalk
Get yourselves down to Regent Street this Sunday and you’ll find a 100m open-air runway. Yes, really! The Street is My Catwalk, in association with the V&A, is part of Regent Street’s traffic free Summer Streets initiative and the good British public are invited to strut their stuff on the catwalk. In Top Model stylee, you’ll be watched by a panel of judges from the fashion industry, including Damien Whitmore, V&A Director of Programming who will select the best five looks from each show. Let your inner model loose, people!
4. Get 70% Off Valentino At The Outnet
If you’re a Valentino fan – and let’s be honest, who isn’t – hop on to www.theoutnet.com on Tuesday 16th July where you’ll find a huge variety of the Italian brand’s super elegant, feminine dresses and tailored jackets. With discounts of up to 70% off, it’ll be fastest finger first!
5. Natalia Vodianova Set To Host Legendary Love Ball
The Russian supermodel is inviting a host of fash pack friends to the Riviera for the fourth edition of The Love Ball taking place on July 27th in Monaco. The swanky event is set to include a sumptuous gala dinner, stellar live entertainment, and a special charity auction hosted by Christies. But this isn’t any old auction – it’ll include exclusive couture from Dior, a Riviera diamond necklace and – get this – an internship with Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel in Paris! We’ll be waiting for our ticket with baited breath…

Georgia May Jagger Returns As The Face Of Hudson Jeans For Second Season
Posted on February 5, 2014 at 11:01 am
Those Jaggers are a force to be reckoned with. While dad Mick winds downs his ’50 and Counting’ tour, youngest daughter Georgia has just been unveiled as the face of Hudson’s Autumn Winter 2013 campaign. This isn’t the first time that the 21-year-old has worked with the brand, back in May she appeared alongside her brother James and boyfriend Josh McLellan, who is James’s bandmate in the band Turbogeist, in a series of photographs set in cool locales around London, from Abbey Road Studios to Camden Market.
While still channeling GMJ’s rock ‘n’ roll heritage, the latest ads from Hudson are far more pared back, not least because they were shot in black and white. Ditching the urban backdrop in favour of a studio setting, the images were taken by photographer Sebastian Kim with art direction by Patrizio Micelli and the Al Dente agency. Georgia poses topless in a pair of Hudson jeans with her modesty covered up by a Union Jack flag and fringed scarf. In another shot she is joined by gorgeous Spanish model Jon Kortajarena who has previously worked with Karl Lagerfeld, Roberto Cavalli and Zara among others.
Ben Taverniti, Hudson’s creative director revealed: “We wanted to create a campaign that revolved around our brand mantra of “Let yourself go,” and [that] visually set the tone which we could build on, season after season. We chose black and white photography to start because of its minimally beautiful aesthetic and nature.”
Fans of Hudson and GMJ will have the chance to get involved in the campaign as the brand plan on asking Instagram followers to share photos of themselves “letting go”.
This is the second starring campaign that Georgia has bagged this month as she was recently revealed as one of faces of Miu Miu Autumn Winter 2013. For Miu Miu the model played on her doll-like qualities with her blonde hair poker straight, her skin porcelain perfect with her trademark gap-toothed pout in full view as she elegantly posed in a fabulous pink coat dress covered in black polka dots.
We’re super excited that on Thursday we’ll have the chance to meet GMJ in the flesh as she launches the Hudson campaign at the brand’s new store in the denim studio at Selfridges. Tweet us your questions with #AskGeorgia and we’ll put them to the Bardot-esque beauty – and check back here for the full interview later this week.
