Carine Roitfeld Styles Diane Von Furstenberg’s Autumn Winter 2013 Campaign
Posted on May 8, 2014 at 7:46 am
Diane Von Furstenberg has made some changes for Autumn Winter 2013 and hired a whole new team to produce her New York label’s latest campaign. The designer brought together model Daria Werbowy, stylist Carine Roitfeld and photographer Sebastian Faena to create the images, which were overseen by creative agency Laird + Partners. The ads channel glamorous seventies era paparazzi shots – think Studio 54, Jerry Hall, big hair and gold jewellery, with the focus on DVF’s iconic wrap dresses and the brand’s new Sutra bags.
Furstenberg, who launched her label in decade of disco said, ‘This campaign, like the collection it represents, is really about getting back to our roots. It is about empowering women to be the rock star and the muse of their own lives.’
Canadian model Werbowy also stars in ads for Celine, Salvatore Ferragamo and Isabel Marant this season. She’s been modelling since the age of 14 and holds the record for opening and closing the most shows in one season.
It seems when a brand wants to embrace sexuality in a campaign, Roitfeld is the go-to woman. With her mussy ‘do and smokey-eye look, she epitomises the effortlessly provocative style that French women are known for. Whether it’s her work with Tom Ford for Gucci, her time as Editor at Vogue Paris, styling for Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel or her latest shoots for her own CR Fashion Book, the stylist is renowned for her erotice influence. Roitfeld once said: ‘A lot of people say I am the queen of porno-chic. “Chic” is good, but “porno” is not. I am very happy you use the word “erotic” and not “pornographic”. I never treat a woman as an object, and even when we use bondage, I don’t think the woman seems to suffer; she is never just an object. She is tough, my woman. I always think model and woman is more important than the clothes. Most of the time when I do shoots I think the girl is an actress more than a model.’

The Weekend’s Best Dressed: Alexa Chung, Amanda Seyfried & More
Posted on May 6, 2014 at 4:57 pm
It’s Monday morning, so do you know what that means Yep it’s time to take a look at the weekend’s best dressers. Amanda Seyfried and Sharon Stone hit the red carpet this weekend for the LA premiere of Lovelace. Amanda Seyfried wore a simple white sleeved mini with a nude pointed court, while Shazza upped the sex factor (obviously) in a white body-skimming pencil skirt with a black shirt. This is Sharon Stone so she was dripping in diamonds.
Our fashion crush Kerry Washington also makes the cut in a white Giambattista Valli dress with red paisley detailing which she paired with Louboutin courts and a simple Nancy Gonzalez clutch. We also love her matching red tipped manicure and sleek updo.
The girl who never gets it wrong, Diane Kruger, wore a monochrome Antonio Berardi dress with sheer organza panel detailing to the Television Critic Association’s Summer Press Tour. Top marks from us Krugs. While over in New York Alexa Chung was classic Chung in monochrome, wedge espadrilles and quilted Chanel for a shopping spree.
Take a look through the gallery above to see all the best dressed stars from the weekend and let us know which is your favourite look on Twitter @Grazia_Live. For a closer look of the outfits click on the expand arrows in the right hand corner…

Suki Waterhouse Gets Arty For Sass & Bide’s Autumn Winter 2013 Campaign
Posted on May 4, 2014 at 1:55 pm
We’re keeping a close eye on Suki Waterhouse here at Grazia Towers. The It Brit has the killer wardrobe, the fashion fan club and the Hollywood hunk boyfriend to boot (yes we’re talking about the hunky Bradley Cooper). So we were rather excited when a few weeks ago, Suki took to Instagram to share pictures of her on set of a brand newr Autumn Winter 2013 campaign…
This morning, it’s been confirmed that she was striking a pose for Sass & Bide and the digital campaign has just landed. Suprise, surprise it’s achingly cool. Suki styled the digital campaign herself (we told you this girl was good), mixing knitwear with statement heels, beading, bralets and printed trews. The dreamy shoot is set in a Brooklyn Brownstone, with Suks posing on her NY doorstep, giggling on a couch, sitting by a typewriter and frolicking about in the garden.
But that’s not all, as Suki also picked up a (digital) paintbrush, as the images are plastered with her own whimsical doodles. She scribbled bunny ears, feathered crowns and mouse ears on top of her scruffed up ‘do. The result A jazzed up snapchat. We also get to see Suks at work, as in one image we catch Suki in the middlet of a furious arts and crafts session, painting barefoot on her wooden floor.
Sass & Bide’s muse, Suki, said: “The shoot was really inspiring, we were having loads of fun, playing music outside all day and dancing.’ Heidi Middleton, Creative Director of Sass & Bide adds ‘we wanted Suki’s creativity to shine. In the behind-the-scenes images we’ve provided an insight into who Suki is as an artist, a photographer, a model. That was interesting to us”.

Are Amanda Seyfried And Sharon Stone Sharing Style Advice On Their Lovelace Promo
Posted on May 2, 2014 at 10:19 am
Sharon and Amanda go matchy matchy in Las Vegas
There may be a 28 year age gap between Sharon Stone and Amanda Seyfried, the stars of forthcoming flick: Lovelace, and yet the fashion choices made by the beautiful blondes look almost interchangeable. Throughout their recent premiere tour across the US of A, the pair have fashioned up a few matchy matchy looks – including the most recent monochrome outing in Las Vegas.
Amanda in Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci
Which begs the question: are these two planning their outfits together The actresses certainly look super-pally on the red carpet – it’s all hugs, with Stone taking Seyfried quite literally under her (very toned) wing….
See the similar black piping and matchy makeup
We all know 55 year old Shazza’s still got ‘it’ by the bucketload – just think back to her stellar Cannes performance earlier this year – so is her stealthy grown-up style influencing Miss Seyfried We’re quite used to seeing Amanda in properly girly garb – ultra-florals, tulle, etc – but for her Lovelace promos there’s a minimal mood taking centre stage. Amanda’s simple white shift from Stella McCartney does echo the (slightly more sassy) version that Sharon rocked with tough gold extras.
Sharon remains super-chic in safari-style, Amanda gets cheeky in Balmain
When Butter-Wouldn’t-Melt Seyfried flew solo on the Late Show with David Letterman, she once again returned to her very feminine ways in a flippy-skirted pastel concoction from Balmain’s Resort 2014 line. For Stone’s downtime in NYC, a classic safari style shirtdress was sufficiently chic for coping with the heat.

Helena Christensen On How She Stays In Supermodel Shape, British Fashion & More: Exclusive Interview
Posted on April 30, 2014 at 8:27 am
Supermodel Helena Christensen has gone behind the lens for MATCHESFASHION.COM, as she teamed up with Jen Carey to take a series of portraits of inspirational women including Julianne Moore, Dree Hemingway, Josephine de la Baume and Mimi Xu, wearing the store’s exclusive Rika Iron Girl sweater. We caught up with Helena to chat about how she stays in supermodel shape, the Iron Girl project, her heavy metal past and, of course, shopping…
Grazia Daily: We’ve seen some incredible shots of you recently – how do you keep your body so fit
Helena Christensen: I try to eat healthy and work out regularly. I’d say it works 50% of the time. Both the above makes you feel great, they’re just so hard to be disciplined and consistent about.
Grazia Daily: Are you a gym bunny or is it all about diet and lifestyle for you
Helena Christensen: I’m certainly not a gym bunny. I box in a sweaty old boxing club, and that’s a workout that kicks ass, literally. It’s hardcore training but if I’m going anyway, I’d rather get instant gratification.
Grazia Daily: Has your experience changed the way you think of yourself in terms of confidence- are there things you used to be insecure about that you are more relaxed about now
Helena Christensen: There definitely is, and vice versa. It would nice to think that you gain more confidence and become more tolerant as you gain more experience, but that would almost be too easy, right I think we learn all through our lives and sometimes we’re fortunate to be able to use that knowledge wisely. But I still get down about some of the same things I got down about when I was a teenager and my tolerance has maybe grown in some respects, but certainly not in others.
Grazia Daily: One of our colleagues has a lamp you designed (which she loves) and she was wondering if you would be doing any more homeware projects in the future
Helena Christensen: I really enjoy collaborating on personal design projects with experienced companies. I educate myself that way and also get to have an outlet for any ideas I might have. It’s so cool to hear that someone actually bought something designed by me, it makes me very proud.
Grazia Daily: Why did you get involved in the Iron Girl project
Helena Christensen: I work on a regular basis for Rika magazine. It’s wonderful to work for a magazine and with a team of people who all are equally as free-spirited and limitless in their visions as you’d dream of as a photographer.
Grazia Daily: What does Iron Girl mean to you
Helena Christensen: Iron girls are women who are unique in showing their strength by being true to themselves and their emotional side. They’re original and loving, creative and inspirational. They are cool chicks, true ladies, caring girlfriends, mothers, partners and daughters.
Grazia Daily: Are you a big music fan – do you like iron maiden and rock
Helena Christensen: I love Iron Maiden. I grew up partly as a heavy metal fan. There’s nothing more hardcore and bombastic. Great drums!
Grazia Daily: What is your favourite thing about being in front of the camera And being behind it
Helena Christensen: Mostly the same reasons. I really enjoy the creative process of both. Obviously as a model I step in at a later point and outlive the vision of the photographer and his team. And that feels liberating and inspiring. As a photographer, very often it’s your own vision that’s outlived and that can be both daunting and exciting.
Grazia Daily: MATCHESFASHION.COM is obviously a super chic boutique – do you shop a lot yourself
Helena Christensen: I shop moderately. Some periods I just don’t feel like it at all, other times there’s a rush of inspiration coming over me and suddenly I’ll run out and shop.
Grazia Daily: Which designers do you like and what do you think of British fashion
Helena Christensen: British fashion is awesome. I feel designers are playful and experimental in England, they are daring and original.
