Olivia Newman-Young Shows Us What’s Inside Her Make-Up Bag

Posted on June 11, 2014 at 7:30 am

As you well know by now, one of team Grazia beauty’s favourite pastimes is snooping into the make-up bags of the beautiful and glamorous, so we were over the moon to have a snoop inside Made In Chelsea’s Olivia Newman-Young’s beauty stash. Who knew blonde beauty Olivia was a professional make-up artist The lovely lady started training in make-up at the tender age of 18, enrolled in a few courses at Greasepaint make-up school in London and now assists a major fashion and beauty agency, working alongside their make-up artists for fashion weeks and shoots. Way to go, Olivia! Read on for her make-up must-haves…

Inside Olivia’s Make-Up Bag

LDN Skins Gradual Tan Lotion Tone 1, £18.95: I would honestly rather leave the house without make-up than fake tan. If I have a layer of tan on then I feel so much more confident and healthier.

Nip & Fab CC Eye Fix, £9.99: I adore this 2-in-1 eye cream and concealer and always have it in handbag and my MUA kit. It also doubles up as a great primer for lips”

Salon System Naturalash Strip Lashes in 109, £2.65: I have stocked up on these lashes recently as they are so natural looking and easy to apply. Because they are so natural I like to layer a couple of pairs up with lashing of mascara for a sexy smokey eye look for night-time.

MAC Face & Body Foundation, £27: This is something I buy over and over again. I love to blend it with a light-weight body butter for a sexy glow to finish off tanned legs perfectly.

Rodial STEMCELL Facial Oil, £60.00: Me and my sister are obsessed with this, I like to add a few drops to a deep-cleaning facemask and relax, a total essential for me at the moment being so hectic after LFW.

Estee Lauder Macaras, from £20: I find a good Estee Lauder mascara hard to beat, they never leave lashes looking spidery and never smudge.

Rodial Glamsticks, £19.00: I have so many of these scattered in the bottom of my handbags, I am obsessed. They are so nourishing and enriched with Vitamin E & Cocoa Butter, I am loving the new ‘wet’ shade.

Nip & Fab Deep Cleansing Fix, £7.95: I just started using this cleanser on a trip to Scotland recently and it’s amazing. Especially in these colder months its creamy texture really nourishes and pampers my skin at the end of a long day.

We Round Up The 10 Best Backstage Beauty Looks From London, Paris, New York and Milan

Posted on June 7, 2014 at 3:10 pm

Ashish

Ok, we know what you’re thinking. The look from the Ashish show would look rather out of place at Tesco on a Sunday afternoon, but hear us out. The focal point of this look is the graphic liner all around the eye. To make this look more wearable, don’t extend the liner out to your temples, but go for a softer Alexa Chung-esque flick. If you find liquid liner a little tricky (as many of us do!) try the MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack, [a target=”_blank” href=”http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/product/shaded/151/898/Fluidline/index.tmpl”>£15[/a] and apply with a MAC 266 angled brush, [a target=”_blank” href=”http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/product/145/289/Products/Brushes/Eye/266-Small-Angle-Brush/index.tmplcm_mmc=GoogleBase-_-ShoppingFeed-_-Brushes-_-Eye&77tadunit=fcb8c5d7&77tadvert=10422251319&77tkeyword=&77tentry=prod_listing_PPC”>£16.50[/a]. The angle of the brush will help you create the wing of the liner, by placing the brush at the corner of your eye and tilting it up and out until you find your desired shape.

The Products You Need To Buy This Weekend Picked By Our Beauty Team And Bloggers

Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Controversy, £25

‘There is little else more pleasurable than owning a piece of Chanel- be it a lipstick, varnish or double-C crested compact. Clicking the gold button of a Rouge Allure lipstick is always a winner if you’re ever feeling blue, so I was apprehensive to leave the lippie behind in favour of the new gloss. I often avoid glosses because who wants to be stuck to the cheek of another But like all Chanel products the new gloss is in a league of its own. The petite sponge applicator, the long black power packaging and the deep glossy plum it houses, make this little baby my secret weapon for winter.’

Mollie King On Her Beauty Secrets And Why She Covets Cara Delevingne’s Eyebrows

Posted on June 3, 2014 at 11:24 am

What’s not to love about Mollie King Not only is she one fifth of Grazia pop fave The Saturdays but she’s also a serious fashionista too. Always sporting a gorgeous glow and a winning outfit (she’s got more shoes than we’ve got lipsticks, which definitely says something) we just couldn’t wait to chat to the lovely Mollie at Vodafone London Fashion Weekend in her new role as Maybelline ambassador. We’ve always been huge fans of high-street hit Maybelline so were over the moon to chat to Mollie about her beauty regime and attitude towards beauty. What did we learn, I hear you say Read on and learn girls, read on and learn…

Mollie King at Vodafone London Fashion Weekend

She wants Cara’s brows: “I love a strong brow and I think we’ve all been influenced by Cara Delevingne”

She doesn’t follow the crowds: “Don’t just copy what your friends are using. I think you feel most confident when you know you’re wearing make-up that suits you. It’s all about finding what works for you.”

Being in the Saturdays has made her skincare-savvy: “I now know what I should do! I’ve learnt how to properly cleanse, tone and moisturise. I always take my make-up off using L’Oreal Paris Cleansing Oil, £7.99 and use Carita moisturiser. It’s so important to take your make-up off at night.”

She’s a die-hard Maybelline fan: “The first product I ever used was Maybelline Great Lash. I think it’s great!”

She thinks pink lips are the way to a man’s heart: “Pink makes the boys wink! For instant glam I love a nice pop of colour on the lips.”

She gives her skin plenty of TLC during the winter: “To protect my skin in the colder months I always use a good moisturiser and have a facial every few months too. I’m never without my Baby Lips either!”
