Why You Shouldn’t Trim Your Eyelashes
Posted on January 26, 2015 at 12:41 pm
There has been a myth that trimming your eyelashes makes them grow longer. Now if you’re a male reading this, we doubt you would even want longer eyelashes, but this is something many females desire, hence the popularity of fake eyelashes.
Trimming your eyelashes have no effect on how they will grow. If your eyelashes don’t grow as well as they should, this could either be down to genetics or the fact that you’re not receiving any nutrients.
There’s probably more risk involved in cutting your eyelashes than there is benefit. Obviously, using scissors a few centimetres away from the eye isn’t exactly the safest idea. You also have the fact, that the cut may not be even. Something you can’t fix quickly, as eyelashes take approximately 6 weeks to grow back to standard length.

How To Pluck Perfect Eyebrows
Posted on December 17, 2014 at 12:51 pm
Plucking eyebrows is one of the most tedious and painful things you can do in the name of beauty, but it has to be done. Try a few of these tips below and see how you get on with perfecting that perfect brow.
When plucking, we always recommend doing so after a warm shower. This is due to the fact that the warmth opens up follicles and softens the hair, making the process much easier than usual.
Do you find plucking extremely painful? If so, you can purchase some numbing gel which will do the trick. Apply before you start plucking and the pain should be limited.
Does the area around your eyebrow go red after plucking? If so, consider applying a cortisone cream which minimises inflammation.

Suggestions For When You Apply Concealer
Posted on November 26, 2014 at 3:44 pm
There are many different varieties of concealer available, so first analyse your skin and work out what you actually need. For example, if it’s to cover up discolouration then we recommended a concealer which is tinted green as they combat the dark red areas on your skin.
Make sure to prep your face before you apply any concealer. Wash your face with a mild cleanser and then apply moisturiser. Make sure to get rid of all darkness under your eyes, so your concealer is applied on a blank canvas.
If you do have any acne, then make sure to apply concealer. Avoid having the cake look and add a thin layer.

Get Emma Watson’s ‘Gravity’ NYC Premiere Beauty Look
Posted on June 13, 2014 at 7:09 am
Emma Watson (Rex)
It’s been some 24-hours for Emma Watson. Not only has she just been named the sexiest actress in the world by Empire magazine but was out on the red-carpet last night in the Big Apple for the ‘Gravity’ premiere looking every inch the stunning starlet. It’s no wonder the Harry Potter actress has just topped the recent poll, beating the likes of Mila Kunis, Cameron Diaz, Emma Stone and Olivia Wilde. Way to go, Emma!
Us beauty ladies were over the moon to see Em looking totally gorgeous last night, and we just cannot stop staring at her amazing hair and beauty look. Check out those berry-stained lips- bang on-trend for AW, we say. We’re also totally loving her loose, casual updo which really highlights her gorgeously gamine features and bold brows. Although the 23-year old British actress always makes winning fashion and beauty choices, we reckon this could just be Emma’s best beauty look… ever! Want in We do. Read on for our top tips on how to get Em’s stunning retro-glam look….
Emma’s red-carpet beauty look (@emmawatsonhq)
1. Chic Up-Do
The first thing we noticed about Emma’s red-carpet look (aside from her totally ah-mazing white vintage-esque dress) was her stunning, loose updo. Casually swept back from her face, we’ve never seen her hair looking so glossy and healthy, plus we love the height at the crown for a real hit of Hollywood glam. If your tresses aren’t quite as shiny as Em’s, arm yourself with a shine spray like Kerastase’s Styling Gloss Appeal, £15.75 for a dazzling finish with the perfect amount of hold.
2. Berry-Stained Lips
Ah, the good old berry lip. Seen on the smackers of some the coolest fashionistas over the past few weeks at the SS shows, this is one seriously hot trend that Emma works to total perfection. Why do we love it It’s chic, 90’s throwback appeal might have something to do with it, but we also love the matte finish- super sophisticated and so easy to wear. Arm yourself with a soft lipstick like L’Oreal Paris’ Color Riche Boosting Serum Lipstick in Radiant Plum, £8.69 and gently blot the colour onto lips. This gives a much softer and more modern finish.
3. Glowing Skin
Wow, what a glow! A little birdie tells us that Em is a huge fan of organic skincare brand MV Organics- might this be the secret to her angelic complexion We also totally love Emma’s lightly contoured finish which not only looks uber natural but complements her English rose complexion, too. Want the glow We’re thrilled to welcome back Revlon’s Skinlights, £11.99 (this amazing product has been discontinued since 2009) which delivers a wonderfully natural glow to the skin without looking cakey or heavy and blends seamlessly into the skin. We love!
4. Bold, Brushed-Up Brows
Good on you, Em, as we are just loving your bold, brushed-up brows. Not only bang on-trend for AW but spied all over the catwalks for SS14, too, we reckon this slightly androgynous brow really complements the starlet’s killer cheekbones and almond-shaped eyes. Not naturally endowed with Emma’s best facial friends Try Shavata’s Brow Perfector, £19.50, which guarantees a seriously impressive red-carpet worthy finish.
5. Luscious Lashes
One of our favourite things about Emma’s premiere look is the fact that she has really let her natural beauty shine through. Her luscious lashes have been strongly defined without looking too OTT. Our latest find is Bobbi Brown’s Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening Mascara, £19.00- a couple of coats will give even the sparsest lashes some serious volume. We love!
Look through our gallery to check out Emma’s best-ever hair moments… Enjoy!
