Posted on February 14, 2013 at 4:19 pm

In today’s issue

It’s very cold outside (rumours are whirring that more snow might be on the way) and we have to confess that our skin is kind of suffering. Well not just our skin, but more around our eye area. The combination of icy winds, long days working and not enough sleep are taking their toll and the eyes are the first place to show it. Well step up a new…

Grazia’s Beauty Co-Ordinator Angelica Hermon Shows Us What’s Inside Her Makeup Bag

Posted on February 8, 2013 at 12:34 pm

Angelica Hermon

This week we caught up with Grazia’s very own Angelica who works on the beauty team and is a self-confessed product junkie. From new beauty tools to hot new nail varnishes, she is like a magpie to anything makeup related. When not perusing websites like Cult Beauty and Space NK, she can be found scouring many top beauty blogs such, Into The Gloss being the current favourite.

Inside Angelica’s makeup bag

Austique Makeup Bag, £45 – this is my favourite new season purchase and actually doubles up as a mini clutch bag for evenings too.

Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in 03 Brume D’Or, £31 – although this look quite dark, it’s actually an amazing shade on pale skin as you can really contour with it and add a pop of rouge to cheeks mid-afternoon when your complexion is suffering a little

La Prairie White Caviar Illuminating Hand Cream, £94 – my hands always get so dry and this is the best remedy I have come across. What’s so great about it is that whilst nourishing your skin it also illuminates it to make your hands look model-worthy and beautiful at the same time.

Balmi, £4.99 – my favourite new discovery! This is a keyring but also contains a yummy raspberry balm. I am obsessed with it.

No 7 Fanomenal Lashes Mascara, £13 – I’m a huge fan of the whole No 7 range and this is my top mascara yet. It’s got a great brush and really coats each lash all over to give you thick and luscious lashes.

Stylfile, £4.50 – this clever little tool is an amazing nail file that works brilliantly thanks to its curved shape. It makes much more sense to have a file this shape because of how you shape your nails so I am a big fan and keep telling my friends about this

NARS Larger Than Life Long Wear Eyeliner in Rue du Rivoli, £17 – I find khaki liners and shadows are much more forgiving than black for my blue eyes so I like to use this each morning to just outline my eyes and wake them up a bit

YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick in 5, £24 – these new lippie is not only a winning, on-trend colour but it’s the sheerest formula that moisturises your lips whilst coating them for hours. My makeup bag is never without it at the moment

Bare Minerals Brush, £24 – I love great quality brushes and this is my best yet. Its really soft and the perfect size for bronzer or blusher. It also doesn’t leave stray bristle hair on my face which is good!

Daniel Sandler Instant Tan Powder, £22.50 – a new addition to my makeup bag, this dark tan shade is great for adding a touch of glow to the skin, especially in this cold winter weather. For best results apply to your t-zone and under your cheek bones to add definition to the face.

Follow Beauty Blogger Tanya Burr’s Makeup Tutorial To Create An Evening Look

Posted on February 6, 2013 at 1:18 pm

Beauty Blogger Tanya Burr has previously given us a guide to Brigitte Bardot’s 60s siren look, Taylor Swift’s all-American style, Millie Mackintosh’s party look, Katy Perry’s sparkly eye makeup, Emma Stone’s winged eyeliner, Lana Del Rey’s modern 60’s look, Olivia Palermo’s natural rosy complexion, and Keira Knightley’s Awards Season look, but this week she’s delving into cosmetics bag for an evening makeup tutorial. According to Tanya the key to a good night out look are smokey eyes, defined brows and radiant skin. Follow her 7 easy steps…

Hi everyone, today I will be giving you a step-by-step guide to getting gorgeous night out make-up!

1. Start by applying your favourite foundation. It’s always good to look flawless for a night out, but with a radiant finish.

2. I love defined and polished brows and feathering through a powder means that they will look more natural and less harsh but still give lots of shape. If you want to, create more of an arch with the powder for extra definition.

3. Take a shimmery nude shadow and apply all over the lid with a fluffy blush. Next apply a matte black shadow with an angled brush along the lash line; wing it out a little to get a cat eye effect. Using a shadow rather than a liner gives a more smoldering and sultry effect. Blend a similar shade slightly into the outer corners of the socket line to get the smokey effect. For extra glamour, you could add glitter pigment to the outer corners too.

4. To finish of the eyes, run black kohl along the waterline and add lots of mascara. If you want to you could apply false lashes at this point too.

5. Powder the skin and add concealer under the eyes to really brighten the skin.

6. Contour the cheekbones using bronzer – NARS Laguna bronzer is great for a night out look – and pair this with a pretty pink and warm blush on the apples of the cheeks.

7. For the lips, you could go all out and wear a beautiful blackcurrant colour which works beautifully with the dark eyes, but if you don’t want such a strong look then you can pair it down with a pretty pink lipstick and super girly gloss.

Grazia Beauty Team Meet Kate Moss To Chat About Her New Rimmel Nail Collaboration

Posted on February 4, 2013 at 8:59 pm

Last night Grazia team beauty nipped out of the office a wee bit early and made a mad dash down to Café Royal in central London where we were expected for tea with nail experts Sophie Robson and Adam Slee. Oh and only Kate Moss too!

The occasion The launch of the 12 delicious new Rimmel and Kate Moss Salon Pro Nail Polishes named after Kate’s favourite music types no less. Fabulous or what

Arriving in black snakeskin Louboutins and sporting a glossy, dark-green mani from the new range, a very chatty Kate was happy to divulge all her best kept nail secrets and even pose for a picture or three.  *Sigh.*

Get a load of her amazing sound bites below:

On speedy manicures: “I’m a girl on the go, I don’t have time to paint a base coat, polish and top coat. I have my nails changed practically every day for work, so when I do them myself I want to do it quickly.”

On her favourite polish form the collection: “I’m very classic, I like a nice beige nude or a dark colour like deep red or dark green.”

On nail art: “I’m not into nail art but my daughter loves it.

On nail shaping: “My dream nail shape would be a long almond, but I have to keep mine short and round for work. I’ve heard square nails are coming back, but I’m fighting it!”

On at home manis: “I’m a pro at painting my own nails, I’ve learnt from the best and have picked up some good tips along the way. The most important part of a polish for me is the brush. It has to give me enough polish in one swipe or it becomes streaky. That’s why I love the brush so much on this one. And I don’t have to paint it more than once which is ideal.”

On matching nails to your lippie: “I’d never match my nails to lipstick, or have a matching mani-pedi. I tend to keep my toes nude most of the time unless I’ve got a tanned foot and then I’ll do a bright coral. I love a tan, think all girls do…”

We’ll race you to the checkout…

Rimmel Salon Pro with Lycra®1collection including Kate Moss’ 10 new shades will hit stores from 10th April 2013.  RRP £4.49

We brought you latest news on the situation, in an interview with January, back on 13th January ‘’I have been every colour and now my hair is falling out in clumps,’ she told us. ‘I’ve been blonde, red with extensions for this film, then blonde, then black, and now blonde again since last week. I’m going to have to shave it off and wear a wig.’

Holy hairdryers Batman! Next thing we know, these pictures of the lady appeared on our desk, of January covering Vs magazine with what appears to be a sawn-off brunette crop.

But then again – you heard the lady – it could just be a crafty wig.
