Lanvin Autumn Winter 2013 campaign video

When Mr Alber Elbaz wanted to create a campaign which showed the diversity of the Lanvin Autumn Winter collection, he could have snapped up an impressive roster of top models. The last time he wanted to show diversity, with his last Autumn campaign he picked a smorgasbord of ladies-not models, including a waiter, a milliner and a recent U.S. immigrant.

But this time he decided to put it all on one lady – casting Edie Campbell to play six different characters. Translation: she wears five different wigs. Oh and a turban. She’s rather good at dressing up is our Edie. We had to double take a few times to check each character was actually her.

Edie plays femme fatale heroines, leaping from a film noir siren to a curly haired, fur wearing rule breaker. Now what is a retro campaign without an Alfred Hitchcock-esque leading lady So you’ll be glad to hear that for the Steven Meisel campaign Edie does her very best Tippi Hedren.

As for the clothes there is fur slung over prints and swinging cocktail dresses worn with flat brogues. We’d like to get our paws on one of the mood necklaces which spell out ‘Happy’ and ‘Cool.’ At the show Alber said of his necklaces: ‘Because we’re always seeking something and I hate the word ‘cool’. I’m allergic to the word ‘cool.’ Well we’re definitely not allergic to his motto necklaces.

Of course this isn’t the first time Edie has bagged a huge campaign, as she has starred in a Mario Testino Burberry campaign with Kate Moss and a Burbs campaign with the adorable Romeo Beckham. We’re expecting very big things from Ms Campbell.
