Everybody wants to look good when they attend events like weddings, parties, christenings and other celebrations. Quite often, you won’t see people from these events on a regular basis, so you’ll want to make sure you’re looking your best. It’s a time to put on your best outfit and dress to impress.

You may already have lots of outfits for special occasions, in which case you might choose to alter an existing one slightly rather than buying from new. Dress it up with a new handbag or pair of shoes, buy a new cardigan or, for weddings, get a hat or fascinator that will complement the colours.

Charity shops can be an excellent place to begin your search, as you never quite know what you’re going to find. People will often donate outfits that are practically brand new rather than throwing them away.

If you choose to shop from new, there will be even more choice. This is the perfect season to buy occasion wear as shops are geared up ready for wedding season. Take a friend or family member with you to offer advice and to fasten zips. As well as being useful, this is also a much more fun way of shopping.
